Assistance with preparation for sale. Working with owners to develop commercials for sale, intro to specialist advisers and assistance with negotiation. Sale of £4m t/o manufacturing firm concluded May 2007.




Management buy-out by 3 directors, from founder of industrial design company. Worked with new directors and founder to develop staged buy-out at an agreed valuation.


MBO by 5 directors of engineering firm. Valuation circa £4.5m (deal in progress)




UK leaders in tensile fabric manufacture. Post-merger assistance in restructuring.




Corporate Venturing. £2.5m package

UK quoted company invested in small independent IT company. Worked with PWC in approaches to a number of VCs prior to sourcing corporate partner and securing good valuation.


Corporate Venturing. £150k package. 

Aim listed company acquired stake in small business services company. Assisted in establishing business plan, developing process for securing investment. 


VC investment. 

£700k package as a first stage investment in design and IT company.


 VC investment & angel. 

£10m investment in manufacturer of specialist building products. Assisted with business plan, shaping management team.


Angel Investment. 

£150k investment into small manufacturer of specialist valves, develop plan and projections.

Debt Facilities


Assisted numerous companies in securing debt facilities £50k - £1m, including applications under the Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme. Retains 100% success rate for SFLGS applications.

Private sector clients, range of services provided:



Bike manufacturer.

£2.5m t/o. Developed focus on cash generation – stock reduction, price increases, reduction in range.   Impact: £350k improvement in cash over 18 months and improved profitability. Use of Sage Excel Integrated Reporting (EIR) for financial KPIs.


Data Analytics early growth stage. 

Modelling, business planning, legals, establishing admin processes and protocols.


New media marketing business, £1m t/o.

Developed management information based on Sage and EIR to provide dashboards for senior management from which key decisions can be made.


Publishing business (integration of print and web), £1.4m t/o. 

Structuring, finance advice, business plan development for internal and external purposes.


Food ingredients manufacturer, £3m t/o. 

Loss making, with long tail of low volume products. Price increase implemented with reduction of range resulting in profit improvement and high efficiency in production.


Public sector contracts:


South West Counties

A feasibility study to investigate the availability of advanced telecommunications services (including Broadband), how these services could be improved and accessibility increased through a new organisational structure. The six counties of the South West, and the Regional Assembly funded this study into broadband in order to meet their public e-service agendas: social inclusion, community access, e-services, e-government, equitable economic development, rural issues. The project included economic modelling, risk analysis, corporate structuring. A £90k project that ran over 18 months.


The Park Centre (Bristol)

Developing legal and financial structure for new organisation to take over the operation of a former school site. Project included business plan development with full financials.


Development Trust (Bristol)

Preparation business plans including market research, primary and secondary to support usage figures of a number of facilities located in council owned premises. Economic model developed and full business case prepared.


Bristol City Council

Review of strategy to privatise the building regulation service.


Business Link

Development and implementation of Investment Readiness Service for SME’s in South West counties linking in with South West Angel Investment Network (SWAIN) and South West Ventures (Regional Venture Capital Fund)
