Performance Improvement

Performance improvement comes from two principal areas:

  • Efficiency:         'How' you do things.  Improvements in the efficiency of existing operations such as labour productivity, stock turns, delivery time, plant efficiency etc.

  • Effectiveness:    'What' you do.  Identifying opportunities for changing the nature of the business activity.  This is more complex and demands thorough understanding of the opportunities being examined.

Performance monitoring:

A range of tools can be utilised to measure performance.  In particular, Aditum has developed some specific tools linking Sage Line 50 (versions 11 onwards) to Excel such that realtime dashboard reporting can be presented to management on demand.  This is a huge improvement on the standard reports produced in Sage and it means you can have your choice of measures shown in whatever graphical or numerical format you want.

Combining this with projections/budgets means that you can have a clear picture of what has happened, what you are planning and if you are on track or not.  And if not how far are you off track and what your revised year forecast should be.

This is emerging as a key area of Aditum's work and an area where we are well ahead of the accountants serving the small business community.
